About

If you are reading this, then you are one step closer to understanding the ninja ways. Just kidding, this is just my bio.

My name is Coby Jones. I am a man that wears many hats and holds many titles. Father, husband, brother, son, friend, loyal ally, sidekick, singer, music aficionado, karaoke legend, mixologist, and record collector to name a few. I have been collecting records for decades but have really dug back in over the past seven years. No genre has escaped my reach. Punk, funk, grunge, classic rock, noise rock, reggae, indie rock, Taylor Swift (because I’m a girl dad), jazz, alt rock, and on and on and on. My love for all music supersedes any judgement of what is cool and acceptable to listen to. If you dig it, then dig it. Music is the great healer and connector. My goal for this blog is to do just that, heal and connect through music.

I am an avid home mixologist, who really got the bug when the Booze & Vinyl books came into my life. Much appreciation to André and Tenaya Darlington for boatloads of inspiration. My wife and I spent many weekend nights listening to the records and making the cocktails. Thanks to those books, I have so many records in my collection that I wouldn’t have ordinarily chosen. I also coincidentally have an inordinate amount of bottles of strange liquors, cordials, bitters, and fancy additives that I have learned to use as a toolbox of sorts. I enjoy the challenge of pairing album specific cocktails with their counterpart and experiencing the two meld while the record spins on the platter. It is but one facet of the blog, but it is by far my favorite. My goal is to also share some of my own creations as well as we take this journey together. Thanks for coming along!

Good records. Good pours, Good vibes. Good times.
